Three booths, three quite different events. Most of the confusion comes from the fact that they all "take photos at a party" — but they produce different pictures and suit different rooms.
Here is how to pick.
The Selfie Pod
What it is: a sleek, open-standing pod with a large touchscreen. Guests walk up, tap, and go.
What the photos look like: bright, colourful, energetic. Groups pile in. Props get used. It looks like a party.
Space needed: the smallest footprint of the three — roughly 2m x 2m including the backdrop.
Best for: birthdays, proms, school events, brand activations, and any room where the booth needs to be part of the action rather than tucked away.
The honest downside: because it is open, it picks up the room's lighting and noise. In a very dark venue the results are less controlled than an enclosed setup.
The Glam Booth
What it is: the black-and-white, soft-lit, skin-smoothing setup — the one modelled on the celebrity-party look.
What the photos look like: genuinely striking. High-contrast monochrome portraits with flattering diffused lighting. These are the images people keep, frame and use as profile pictures.
Space needed: around 3m x 2m, and it benefits from a bit of separation from the dance floor.
Best for: weddings, engagement parties, milestone birthdays, awards nights — anywhere the photographs are meant to feel elegant rather than silly.
The honest downside: it is a slower, more deliberate experience. Guests take their time. If you want rapid-fire volume and chaos, the Selfie Pod does that better.
The Enclosed Booth
What it is: the traditional booth with a curtain. You step inside, the curtain closes, and what happens in there is nobody's business.
What the photos look like: uninhibited. The privacy genuinely changes guest behaviour — people who would never pose in the open will do almost anything behind a curtain.
Space needed: the largest — around 3m x 2.5m with clearance for the curtain.
Best for: weddings with a nostalgic feel, corporate events where staff need permission to loosen up, and any crowd that includes people who would otherwise avoid a booth entirely.
The honest downside: it seats fewer people per photo, and the queue moves more slowly because each group is in and out rather than crowding a screen.
